Cape to Cape is a motorbike journey from the most southern point in Africa (Cape Agulhas in South Africa) to the most northern point in Europe (North Cape in Norway). My fiancée Claudine is the only other person on this trip and she would be doubling up with me. Our bike setup is Suzuki Vstrom 650 called Yuki (with very little luggage space) which we bought second hand.
It is a trip I have been planning for a long time and initially the plans where a bit different (aren’t they always). The trip was initially planned to be much further but the people that was supposed to join me now can’t and I feel that I would rather do other parts of a bigger trip by bicycle. The trip should take us around 5 months to complete. Since we live in Johannesburg we first need to drive down to the Cape Agulhas before the actual journey north can begin.
Since this is our first real African adventure (we have only been to the countries bordering South Africa) we opted for the more traveled East African route.
We will take a netbook with us on our trip so we should be able to post updates more frequently.
